Benjamin Lacombe

Benjamin Lacombe is one of my favorite illustrators. I discovered his wonderful works in a book shop in Bergamo. He has been illustrating a lot of known books, at the same time both writing and illustrating his own books, like "Cherry and Olive".

His biography:
Benjamin was born in Paris in 1982. In 2001, he attended the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Paris. (ENSAD) where he pursued his artistic education. At the same time, he worked as an advertising and animated movie artist before completing his first comic series at the age of 19, along with a few other illustrated books...
"Cherry and Olive" became his first children's book and published in France by Les éditions du Seul in March 2006. The folling year, it was released by Wlker Books (USA) and nominated one of the top 10 children's books for the year 2007 by the weekly news magazine Time.
Since then, he has written and illustrated a lot of book. Also he exhibits his works on a regular basis.

Bergamo

Some Information about Bergamo

Bergamo is a town and comune in Lombardy, Italy, about 40 km northeast of Milan. Its population is 120.000. The foothills of the Alps begin immediately north of the town. Bergamo occupies the site of the ancient town of Bergomum, founded as a settlement of the Celtic tribe of Cenomani. In 49 BC it became a Roman municipality.

Como in Monogram Photographs

I've been in Italy this July for 3 weeks and travelled a lot. And of caurse took a lot of picture there. My actual aim was to go to Nuovo Accademia di Bella Arti (a school of art in Milan) for a workshop, but it was only for 10 days, therefore I've been in different places in Italy with my friends. First, I was in Bergamo and Como with Selin.

Some Information About Como

Como is a city and a comune in Lombardy, Italy. It is the administrative capital of the Province of Como. It's proximity to Lake Como and Alps has made Como a popular tourist destination. The city contains a lot of works of art, churches, gardens, museums, theatres, parks and palaces: the Duomo, the Basilica of Sant'Abbondio, the Villa Olmo...

At lunch, we sat down at a restaurant at the center of Como, so our view was the Cathedral.
